PROM WAS FANTASTIC!!!

I had SSSOOO much fun!!!
First, we (Steven, Dawn, Cassidy, and me) went to a restaurant where one of Dawn's friend, Trevor, works. (We saw Trevor there with his girlfriend, who was his date to the prom.) Anyway, the food was awesome. I got some sort of seafood pasta salad thingie with noodles and shrimp and fish. The noodles weren't all that great, but the shrimp and fish were awesome.
After dinner, we headed to the prom. Steven missed the turn onto the street so we had to sort of back up real quick so that he didn't get off onto the freeway.

Dawn and I got out of the car and waited for Steven and Cassidy to park the car. Once that was done, we headed over to give the people our tickets. There were tables with lots of masks, so Dawn and Cassidy grabbed some for themselves. We headed inside to find the dance floor. There was a hallway where you could go give some ladies anything like coats, purses, and stuff. I went to put my purse and my mask away. One of the ladies, who was a professional photographer, saw my mask and said she just HAD to get a picture of me with it. So I posed for her, and then they put my stuff away.
We found Trevor, his girlfriend, and some of Trevor's friends playing poker with pink cards at one of the tables out in the back. They were using mints as poker chips. Since I don't play poker, I just sat at the table and watched everyone else play. I ate my share of the mints.

Dawn and I went to check out the chocolate fountain when she got bored playing poker. I had Oreos and some other stuff dipped in chocolate. It was yummy, but it sort of made my stomach ache.
We had tons of people stop by our table during the night. I saw Ryan. There were some people who Dawn and I used to hang out with named Carmen and Matt, who were there together. Some girl named Vanessa was there with her date, whose name I forget despite the fact he sits two seats away from me in my Astronomy class. A guy named Charlie, who was on my brother's cross country and track teams, and who is also in a few of my classes, was there as well. Charlie was there with Jessica, a girl from the color guard team who is also Tailor's best friend.
Sometime later, I went to go to the restroom. There was a long line in front of the restroom because it was in the same hallway as the coat check-in. It took me forever to get into the bathroom, and when I did a bunch of girls were screaming from outside, "Opening the f***ing door!" Of course, I tried hurrying as quickly as I could, but it was difficult with all the layers of my dress, and then my underwear and my nylons...it was chaos!!! When I finally opened the door, I was practically trampled by no less than FIVE girls who were all clamboring into the bathroom. They even nearly shut the door on my foot! A few of the people standing in the line looked sympathetically at me, and a few were glaring at the bathroom door. I just sort of whispered, "Geez!"
I forgot about that incident later, because Vanessa realized we were both wearing the same style of dress, just in different colors. She decided we needed to twirl because our dresses would fly up, so I went and twirled with her. I thought I was going to fall over, but it turns out she did instead. She nearly toppled headfirst into a badly placed trashcan. Jessica and I helped her to her feet. We were all laughing pretty hard.
Later, Vanessa gathered me and two other girls (one being Jessica, and the other I think another girl from the color guard team) who had dresses that flew up when we twirled. We played a twirling game where we all stood in a square and then twirled one after the other, or two at a time. It was lots of fun. Then Vanessa said we should grab our dates, so I grabbed Steven. He and the other guys twirled us some more. I ran into one of the girls and my glasses got knocked askew, but it was still lots of fun. I guess you could say I "let my hair down" for a while.
We heard an announcement saying that there was a last call for anyone wanting to take pictures, so we (Steven, Dawn, Cassidy, and me) all rushed upstairs to get our pictures taken. We had to wait for a little for others to get their pictures taken. The second story had a huge open space with a railing around it that looked down onto the dance floor below. Since I'm afraid of heights, I got all queasy and had to sit down on one of the couches they had upstairs. Steven saw me sitting down, so he came over and sat down with me so I wasn't alone. Dawn and Cass were over at the railing watching the people down below. Once our pictures were taken, we headed back downstairs.
The last twenty minutes of the prom, we (Steven, Dawn, Cassidy, and me) all stood in line waiting to get drinks. Dawn and Cassidy were the only two to get any drinks, since Steven and I weren't really thirsty. It was really stupid.
We headed back to my house. Dawn and Cassidy spent the night, so the two of them and I changed back into normal clothes. I felt sorry for Steven, who had to stay in his tux. We played Uno Attack for about an hour before Dawn decided she wanted to sleep. So, I walked Steven out to his car and said thanks for coming with me. Then, I headed inside and went to sleep on the couch.
Prom was so awesome!!!

That was two weekends ago. Last weekend, I went with Dawn and Cassidy up toward San Francisco to attend an anime convention called Fanimecon. It was my first time at an anime convention, and it was spectacular.
There were tons of cosplayers (people in costume) from all sorts of anime, videogames, movies, etc. I dressed up as Yolei Inoue from Digimon 02. Dawn went as Hinoki from an anime I didn't recognize. Cassidy didn't have a costume.
We met up with Tailor, Jessica, and a few other people we knew from school while we were there. Tailor was having trouble with her friends because they were getting into fights amongst themselves and trying to drag her into the debates. Tailor didn't want to have any part of it, so she hung out with us the entire weekend. One night she even came and spent the night with us in our hotel because there were too many people in her hotel room. (They had one hotel room with SIX people staying in it!!!)
I bought lots of awesome stuff. During a swap meet, I found a bunch of Runaways books, which is a comicbook series that I just absolutely LOVE.

I also got a Kilala plushie, a Kilala hat, a bookbag that reads "So Many Books...So Little Time", some kitty cat pins, lots of Pocky, and food. (Kilala is a little fox demon thing from an anime called Inuyasha.)
I had tons of fun. My feet were killing me in my boots, which were actually Ugg boots that I painted to look like Yolei's green and white boots. I was sad when the paint started falling off, but it was really funny because I left white flecks everywhere I went.
At one point in time, we (Dawn, Cassidy, Tailor, and me) were sitting on a corner with signs reading, "Hugs Pwease" and "Pat Our Heads Please." Dawn and I both had kitty-eared hats, so we thought we might get people to come pat our heads. It was going great until some official Asian guy who barely spoke English came over and said, "No signs." The atmosphere around us was so happy, but the minute he said those words, it was like a black hole had sucked out all the happiness from the air. Everyone around us got really sad, including us. Some guy told us that last year had been really awesome because people had signs everywhere. I guess their rules got really strict because someone holding a sign got hurt last year. At least, that's what we heard.
Just before that, we were sitting there waving at random people to see if they would wave back. We were having tons of fun. Tailor and I counted over 200 people who waved back. Some waved back with lots of enthusiasm, while others just looked at us weird. Waving at random people and holding up signs saying "Hugs Pwease" are just traditional things you DO at an anime convention, but the officials took that away from us.
I got glomped by a passerby who saw our signs before they got put down by that Asian who barely spoke English. It was my first time being glomped!
Definition of "glomp"...well...heh...it's sort of like a big, enthusiastic hug. Tailor gives really good glomps; I saw her glomp about three people.
But Fanimecon was really awesome despite the sadness of having no signs.
Coming back to reality was really hard, especially after I found out from my sheep advisor that Romeo's legs are bowed, and that I shouldn't show him because I will most likely be put into "Group 3" which means I wouldn't be able to sell him at auction. I think that is the stupidest thing ever. So now I have to get a hold of Casey to see if I can trade Romeo for his last ewe. I really wanted a wether this year!!!!

I'm going to go before I rant on about how stressed out I'm getting because the end of the school year is coming. The end of senior year is so BUSY!!! I can't believe how many things the school planned fro us to do!! Ug.
Good night.
