Not MORE rain! Stupid, flooping rain! Actually, it didn't rain as much today. It was WINDY! It was so windy, it was hard to use an umbrella! My umbrella almost flew out of my hands!!! Oh, yeah...I got my umbrella back from Dawn. She left today to do her Winter Guard competition. I wonder how she and the others did? Today was pretty boring. Nothing very exciting happened. In my Teacher's Aide class today, I sorted slip cast molds and typed up a list of the inventory of molds for the teacher. It took me all period to do just those two things! I love being an art T.A.!!! I found out that we're going to be doing an in-class essay on Tuesday in my English class. That means we get an hour and a half to write an essay on, "Should society put a monetary value on the lives of people?" All of the other students were freaking out, but I'm just a little worried. Whenever I do an essay on my computer at home, I usually get it done within half an hour. We're allowed to take notes about the topics we're going to discuss in our essay, so I'm going to write it all down to use on Tuesday! I went to the library after school with my brother. I got a whole armful of books! I got: 1 through 3 of Fushigi Yugi "A Mysterious Play" (manga) 1 through 4 of Pearl Pink (manga) Case Closed #2 (manga) The Lost Queen: Book Two of The Faerie Path Leven Thumps and the Whispered Secret Leven Thumps and the Eyes of the Want I get the books for three weeks, but I should finish the majority of them before then. I love having a library card! I love to read!!! That's pretty much all that happened today! Wow, what a boring Friday... karia_roses

ARG! Stupid rain! I know we need it, but does it have to be so flooping WET? I've got two days to report on, since I got home too late yesterday! I went to Dawn's Color Guard practice yesterday to take pictures of her for my photography project. The project is titled, "A Day in the Life of ..." and I had to fill in the space with whoever I was going to take pictures of. So, I did, "A Day in the Life of a Color Guard Member." Dawn and the other Color Guard members (most who I know) were very good about having me there taking pictures of them! I got pictures of Dawn stretching, twirling her flag, holding her rifle and her saber, and some of her hanging out with the other members as they waited for everyone to arrive. It was totally awesome to watch, and I got to see parts of what they're doing for their competition tomorrow. For those who don't know what Color Guard is, it is where a group of people get together and do a dance using flags. Winter Guard, which is really what they are doing right now, is the same thing, except they use flags, sabers, and rifles. (The sabers and rifles are fake, don't worry!) So I got to hang out with Dawn all day after school yesterday. Right after school, we went to my house to finish some math homework that was due today, since we wouldn't have time to after the practice. When that was finished, we picked up her boyfriend, Cassidy, from work and brought him home. (Cassidy lives with Dawn because his parents moved to a different state. He's nineteen.) Once that was done, we headed over to our high school for her practice. When the practice was finished (it went from 6 to 9 p.m.) we headed home. Dawn, being so used to going home after her practice, actually headed toward her house instead of mine. It took me a while to figure out that she was heading in the wrong direction! When I said something, she started laughing. So, we turned around and headed for my house. It was 9:30 at night by that time, and I was starting to feel sleepy. We started talking about the pictures that I had taken of her and the other members of the Guard. We were laughing and just talking as Dawn turned onto the road that my street connects to, which is when... WE HIT AN OWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a Barn Owl. I recognized the white, heart-shaped face and the lighter brown feathers on the tops of its wings. It hit the passenger side of the hood. I thought it had hit the window, but it didn't. I was sitting in the passenger seat, so it freaked me out the most. One second, Dawn and I were talking, and the next...we were both screaming our heads off. She continued to turn and then stopped in the middle of the street as we both laughed and screamed and hyperventilated(okay, so I was the one who was hyperventilating). She asked if I wanted to get out and go check to see if the owl was okay, but I said no, I just want to get home. I was still freaking out when we got to my house a few minutes later. My dad and brother were sitting on the couch watching t.v. and I told them about it. They didn't seem too excited, though. I guess it was probably because they weren't there when it happened. It was the freakiest thing that has ever happened to me in Dawn's car! I mean, the owl seriously swooped out of nowhere! One second, we were talking...next second BAM we hit an owl! I can't get the picture of the owl out of my head, either! It's like permanently etched onto the back of my eyelids! Today wasn't as excited. I forgot my umbrella in Dawn's car because of the owl fiasco, so I got drenched walking around school. I got the most drenched walking to the bus today. The park that's in between the high school and school was flooded with water, and instead of going around on the sidewalk, Diana and I walked through the water. She had boots on, but I had tennis shoes that ARE NOT waterproof. So, of course, my shoes got soaked with freezing cold water. Seriously, it was FREEZING! To understand how cold it was, I'll just say that we could see our breath as we were walking. Cold temperature + water + tennis shoes that aren't waterproof = numb feet Stupid, flooping rain! There's been so much rain this week that the pond below our house has filled up. Our neighbor's driveway is going to get flooded! Oh, well. They deserve it, since they built their house practically on top of ours. Their HUGE house is barely twenty feet from our fence. It's front door has about four or five feet of space from the door before it turns into a steep little cliff that leads down to the pond. My parents got so mad when they found out they were building a house on the three or so acres of land. About two and a half of the acres gets flooded during this rainy season. They built the house on the last acre or so. If the cliff they built the house on collapes, they deserve it. Anyway, I'm going to get going now. There are a few other sites I want to check out before I have to get off to go and wash the dishes. I wish it was my brother's night to wash, then I could stay online longer! G'night! a very wet karia_roses

I hate rain! I hate when puppies pee on your pants! I hate kids on the bus who have no idea how to NOT CURSE and WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT PERSONAL SPACE MEANS! It's easy to tell I had a bad day, huh? I'm so flooping mad!!! My day started off with finding my high school yearbook in the living room. I immediately knew my brother had taken it out of my closet and left it in the living room, when I'd specifically told him (over and over and over and over again!) to put it away when he's done with it. I don't want something to happen to my yearbook, and every time he leaves it in the living room, there's a chance of it getting food or some sort of beverage on it! I made him put it away this morning so I knew that it was safe. I was dreading my photography class today because of a project we're doing it. Of course, when I got there, I was just as frustrated as I thought I was going to be. After school, my friend Diana and I walked together to the junior high, where we catch the bus that takes us home. We ride the same bus because we live in the same area. She hasn't been coming on the bus for a few weeks because she's a runner for our high school track team and she's been going to practices, so I was pretty excited that she was going to be on the bus because I'd have somebody to sit next to. But, of course, on our way to the junior high, one of her guy friends showed up, right in the middle of our conversation. The rest of the way, Diana and her friend completely ignored me. Every time I tried to say something, it was like I hadn't said anything at all. I was pretty much invisible! Then, we got close to the junior high, and she took off to go to get hot chocolate with her guy friend. She asked me if I wanted to go with them, but I refused because I thought that they weren't going to be going on the bus after all. Turns out, they DID catch the bus. I had already found a seat, but I guess Diana didn't feel like sitting next to me because she sat with her guy friend and his friends, who are sort of her friends, too. So, I got left sitting with a rather large girl who took up more than half of the seat. I like my own personal space, which means that I don't like having any part of the person sitting next to me touching me, unless they are a friend. The entire ride, I was scrunched up against the wall of the bus while the girl next to me rocked out on her iPod. The bus driver came back before we left the junior high to switch some of the seats the junior high students were sitting in. It's a rule on our buses that the junior high students aren't allowed to sit in the back, so she had to move some of them forward. And, of course, I got stuck in front of two rowdy junior high boys who thought it was funny to call the bus driver all the fowl names they could think of. I absolutely can't stand cussing, which means I had to endure twenty minutes of the F word, the S word, the A word, and all of the other things they could think to call the driver. Then, the stupid boys thought it was funny to slam their knees into the back of my seat, causing me immeasurable pain in my spine due to them ramming me. I leaned forward for a few minutes until they stopped, but they had a new idea to annoy me... THE KID STUCK HIS CELLPHONE IN MY EAR WHILE IT WAS PLAYING A RINGTONE! And I'm quite sure he had it turned up the highest it could go! Oh, and before I forget, the two rowdy junior high boys in front of me were ramming into the back of their seat, which meant that I was being rammed in the knees while being rammed in the spine. Oh, yeah...not to mention the STUPID WINDOW LEAKED FROM THE RAIN while I was leaning against the bus wall, which meant by the time it was my turn to get off, my entire right sleeve was soaked through to my skin!!! (I was wearing TWO jackets, too!) I was not a happy camper when I got off the bus. So, my brother and I walked home together. I told him about my horrible day and asked him to watch the dogs when we got home because I'm going to have to watch them the rest of the week by myself when I get home from school. He said he would because I'd had a bad day. But, of course, I got stuck worrying about the puppy because he kept getting into things and chewing on my backpack. When we first got home, my brother let the puppy back inside the house when the puppy didn't go pee outside because he thought the puppy didn't have to go pee, when he really DID need to go, meaning the puppy went on the floor AND on my pants, which I'd just taken off to go put in the wash because they were soaking wet BECAUSE OF THE STUPID RAIN! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I hate stupid days like this! I hate stupid rain, and stupid kids, and friends who ignore me, and how flooping cold it is! ::falls out of her chair:: I just want to pull my hair out right now and scream into a pillow! And I thought today was going to be a good day. It helps that I'm listening to Simple Plan really loud on my MP3 player, though! Loud music is always great to listen to when you're angry! I think I'm done splattering my red hot anger all over today's post. I hope tomorrow's a better day! karia_roses

My best friend Dawn came over today. I revised her essay for her. As she'd predicted, I scribbled all over it with things she needed to correct. Once I finished revising her essay (or using a paintbrush to slash a red X across the essay, as Dawn put it) we did our Economics homework, which basically meant we had to look up the definitions for words. After our homework was done, we went on my computer and searched for more pictures of people in our IceClan. We found pictures for Poppypaw (one of our friends), and Thrushpaw (my brother). I then showed her the system I downloaded onto my computer (it's called GIMP) and how I can mess with pictures. We found a cat picture on the 'Net that she liked, and a background, and I created a signature for a messageboard for her. She wants to use it for the Warriors messageboard that we created a few months back. Of course, we've got to go back and fix the whole site because we abandoned it. Oops! I worked on my Harry Potter fic again, but I didn't get that far because my dad told me that I could get onto the Internet and I immediately jumped onto the 'Net. I've been on a Digimon messageboard for the past few hours. I haven't done anything else today, so I'll end it here! G'night! karia_roses

Sunday January 20, 2008
Well, today was another day filled with note taking and plot examining! After eating my usual Sunday donut (my dad buys my brother and me a donut almost every Sunday), I hopped onto my computer to hack away at my new HP fanfiction. I've decided to use a modified plot of my last Harry Potter fanfiction as the plot to my new one. The new one doesn't have an official name right now, so I've saved it onto my computer as "The Story of Albus Potter"...which sounds extremely corny, doesn't it? I was thinking of doing the title in the style of the actual Harry Potter books. You know how they all look like "Harry Potter and the [fill in rest of book title(s) here]". There's the Sorcerer's (Philosopher's) Stone, the Chamber of Secrets, the Prisoner of Azkaban, the Goblet of Fire, the Order of the Phoenix, the Half-Blood Prince, and the Deathly Hallows. (If you're an HP fan reading this and you haven't read Deathly Hallows, SPOILERS MAY BE AHEAD! So, you may want to stop reading!) I was going to do something like "Albus Potter and the [whatever I figure to put here]" as the title of my fanfiction, but then I realized a crucial point about my story... I HADN'T FIGURED IF IT WAS GOING TO BE A SERIES OR NOT! Most of my fanfictions become series. I have a Warriors fanfiction, a Digimon fanfiction (Digimon being an anime T.V. show I've loved since I was in 4th grade), an Animorphs (book series about aliens) series, and my other HP fanfiction series that didn't make it. I'm still not sure whether this HP fic will turn out to be a series, but knowing me, it most likely will. As for the plot, I'm sort of combining Harry Potter with X-men, but not literally. You won't see any X-men popping in and out of my Harry Potter story! The main characters, and quite a few other Hogwarts students, find out that they have powers that they can manipulate without the use of a wand. (Think of things like electricity, or having the ability to turn into an animal, or talk to inanimate objects.) How is this a modified plot, you ask? Well, first off, my first HP fic was about the daughter of Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks. But J.K. had the two of them give birth to a son before she killed them off! Didn't quite work out for my story. So, anyway, in my first version, Voldemort (yes! I say his name!) had children. (Totally bogus, I have now realized.) He had a son and a daughter. The son (what did you expect?) became evil, like Voldemort. The daughter became good. Both of Voldy's kids have weird powers. After a while, I realized it was pretty unbelievable that Voldy would have kids. So, I abandoned the story to go off and write my Warriors fanficton and I haven't returned to it since. So, instead of having Voldy's son be the evil bad guy in my new HP story, I'll come up with some new villian. I don't know who it will be...perhaps a follower of Voldy who has promised revenge against Harry for killing Voldemort. I don't know! My notes are quite vigorous right now. I've got a census going for the majority of the Hogwarts students, including the main characters. Last time I counted, there were 107 characters created. Most of them will not be mentioned in the story, but it's nice to know I have options of adding a character into random scenes while I'm writing. I've come up with some pretty cool names. My favorite so far of an "unofficial character" (as I'm calling them) is Scarlett Raine. It just rolls off the tongue! My shoulders are hurting again! I think I've been sitting here for too long. Hope my parents don't get mad! I'm going to get going now! Buh-buh-bye! karia_roses
